The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who want to remove mopping from their list of things to do. They feature impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through an efficient.
It's quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa suction motor makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by much. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've used. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install, and it works well. However when best automatic vacuum purchase this robot vacuum solely to mop you must pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and intelligently. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the strength of suction and choose between a back-andforth or more randomized pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it should make, which will affect how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but has many smart features. However, it's important to remember that it carries regular costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be replaced every one to three month.
This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as a 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home' button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending a lot of time on chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which is equipped with a microfiber pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan which it uses to create a route when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture an enormous amount of hair shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some lovely jingles that let you know that it was in the process of working towards its goal.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the need to change out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot store multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinctive features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock that doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it is entangled in an obstacle like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
