The Best Robot Hoover
The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture leg. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our top option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and operates while you are at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to offer better cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.
If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. During tests, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on various rooms and floors with various kinds of flooring, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes, this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and a little more cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that let you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.
The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on the degree of dirt they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very useful.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might think from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. best robot cleaner can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. My Source is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
